Nola Brantley Speaks partnered with the Los Angeles Probation Department to develop a CSEC prevention curriculum for females, "Word on the Street: Educating and Empowering Young Women and Girls. " The purpose of this prevention curriculum is to educate, equip, and empower youth, and provide them with tools and opportunities for discussion to prevent them from unknowingly becoming victims of commercial sexual exploitation. The curriculum provides an overview of CSEC which includes what it is, examples of CSEC, the CSEC business model, and the objectification and sexualization of women and girls in the entertainment industry. The curriculum also discusses risk factors for CSEC, peer recruitment, the dangers of the Internet and social media, the differences between a relationship with a boyfriend/girlfriend and an exploiter, and healthy relationships. Additionally, the curriculum discusses exploiters descriptions, tactics, and pickup lines. Throughout the curriculum, the girls and young women will review safety and resource tips to ensure that the youth know what resources are available for them and who they can reach out to for help. Topics include
Who are the ideal participants? The curriculum is designed for females between the ages of 13 - 18 who have not been identified as a CSEC victim. I am not really a person who relies from rumors, I always try to get my facts straight. I mean, what type of person does actually enjoy rumors instead of facts. Well, some journalists think that it is their way to the top, but that is not my style. If you are going to get famous by saying stuff that are weird and untruthful, then you have failed yourself as a journalist. I want people to remind themselves how important it is that they issue facts.

I am a CSEC advocate working for Community Human Services and I would like to see how our organization could bring "word on the street" to one of our programs that works directly with our at risk youth ages 12-24.
