"Raising Awareness" is a commercial sexual exploitation of children prevention curriculum for caregivers. The facilitator training is a 1-day training. Caregivers play a crucial role in preventing youth from getting caught up in the commercial sex industry, so it’s important to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to talk with youth. Particpants will learn how to educate parents and caregivers about CSEC so they are empowered to have discussions with the youth in their care. Altought the curriiculum is written in English, the handouts are available in Spanish.
The curriculum covers the following topics:
  • An overview of CSEC
  • Risk factors for entry into CSEC
  • Dangers of the Internet and social media
  • Strategies to talk with youth about CSEC. The handouts are available in Spanish.
